This project will provide an accurate and cost effective method for maintaining legacy systems that contain complex manufactured components, namely, large metal castings. This work will enable the re-production of functional metal cast components with minimal time or human decision making required, despite the fact that drawings for these legacy parts may be incomplete, unreadable, or completely unavailable. In addition, tooling costs for the re-production of these parts will be minimized through the use of a hybrid additive/subtractive pattern making process.
