This project will develop ways to improve the performance of the entire supply chain with a focus on warehouse operations inside a manufacturing facility. The purpose is to obtain thorough knowledge of the dynamic behavior of the system and discover opportunities to make improvements. Warehouse can be defined as any point in the supply chain where parts are paused, even for a very short time, and touched. These activities will require space, time, and equipment. There are costs associated with every step along the process. The goal of this project is to develop mathematical models and utilize computer solvers to reduce space, time, and other resource requirements, such as materials.
