Adaptive Systems Theory and Design
Project status: Complete
Thrust area: New Design Paradigms and Processes
Research team: Janis Terpenny
Adaptive systems are everywhere. They are found in automotive and aeronautical systems, from the steering and propulsion systems that keep cars on the road, to those that move planes and ships through the sky above and the water below. Industry members will benefit from this project in design in better, more robust adaptive systems and will lower their operating costs. The project also enables understanding of design choice effects and roles of adaptation in system operation. The project also helps to predict system failure and locates design flaws.
