A tool to estimate the electrical energy generated from turbines inserted in fresh water pipes

Project status: Complete

Thrust area: New Design Paradigms and Processes

The world needs to reduce its reliance on fossil energy generation and current renewable sources need to have a greater impact on the overall generation mix. A new form of energy generation is turbine generators using the existing flow of fresh water to create clean renewable electricity close to the point of use. A computational tool is needed to estimate potential power for a given application.
