Design Collaboration and Team Formation

Project status: Complete

Thrust area: New Design Paradigms and Processes

Research team: Brett Stone

To be successful, virtual design teams must have the right composition and collaboration tools. Virtual teams are increasingly prevalent, but face different challenges than regular teams. For example, finding the right people to be on a team, or explaining the desired motion of a new design are significantly different for virtual teams than traditional teams. By developing the right set of tools and measurement methods, productivity, knowledge transfer, and employee satisfaction can all be improved.
