The shortage in skilled workforce is a major challenge in U.S. manufacturing. In this project, we propose a human-centered system for accelerated workforce training which will monitor the physiological state of the trainee (mental workload, stress, concentration) in order to adapt the training module to that individual. We hypothesize that such smart and individualized training improves the learning outcome while sustaining the interest of the trainee. We previously implemented similar approaches in training robotic surgeons and successfully reduced the training time.
