To reduce the costs associated with preparing a product for any Additive Manufacturing (AM) system by creating a complete virtual simulation of the 3D printing process to be examined. This would allow companies to significantly increase the use of additive manufacturing internally as well as for consumer products. VAMVIS would enable engineers without significant manufacturing experience to quickly examine parts for 3D printing viability as well as reducing training costs and pre-process error identification. Novice and experienced users can quickly modify and evaluate virtual AM system settings utilizing an extensible visualization application paired with multiple user interaction technique
