The use of teams, particularly geographically dispersed, self-managed teams, has become increasingly prevalent in organizations and inter-organizational collaborations. Trust is a critical component of maintaining the relationships that are necessary for collaboration success. Specific actions that leaders and managers can take to cultivate trust in partnerships are beneficial for all parties involved. This study will focus on investigating practices for building trust and enabling higher levels of performance in university-industry research partnerships.
